When Children and Alzheimer’s Collide…
Watch this.
Seriously. It’s a brilliant and heartbreaking bit of film.
It was brought to my attention by LizStraus via Twitter. Liz found it on the Bird on a Wire blog, where Deb has been talking about the 1millionmemories project that’s in development… a project that’s worth a look, and a dollar.

My grandmother had Alzheimer. It was so sad to watch her slowly disappear.
I’ve had a couple of people comment about this short film privately — it’s almost as if it’s too moving to comment on. I do encourage everyone to share the link — it makes such a powerful statement about the wide and sometimes unexpected impact of cognitive issues.
Whizmo, your word choice is evocative — I can see a painting of a lovely old woman, half of her smeared and blurred and carried away like old leaves and bird feathers…. thank you for the inspiration. Maybe I’ll clean off the drawing table today.
