Brain Builder Blind Date: The After Math
Last week, I had way too much fun with my review of the Brain Builder brain training software, comparing it to a successful blind date, and complaining only that it didn’t bring me chocolates.
Fast forward a few days, and the FedEx guy rang my doorbell unexpectedly, hand delivering a puzzling box. After listening for suspicious ticking noises, I bravely opened it and found a note from the head of AdvancedBrain, the company that makes BrainBuilder:
Tori,
I learned from my wife that when a woman expects chocolate from you you better deliver!
Enjoy,
Alex Dolman
(seriously. how cool is this?)
It was a box of chocolates.
Not only had Alex gotten the joke about the blind date, but he’d played along, and sent me chocolates! I started laughing so hard that the dogs started barking. Or maybe they could smell it and wanted a taste?
Eventually I stopped giggling, slipped off the loverly ribbon (again, beautiful packaging) and took a taste…
Oh. My. Gawd.
Now I remember WHY people like candy.
I mean, sure, I knew the national brands had declined in quality over the years, but I didn’t realize how much, until I tasted these caramel and almond toffee confections from VChocolates. Later on that night, I gave a bite of almond toffee and a piece of the caramel to my significant-whichever, watched his eyes roll back in his head, then promptly hid the box so he couldn’t steal the rest of it. (The man once ate 3 dozen toll house cookies. In one night. I wasn’t risking a repeat.)
So on top of the positive review of Brain Builder, I have another positive review to give… VChocolates.com ’s candies are to die for. And hey, chocolate and almonds are good for the brain, right?
(Thanks again, Alex!)

Tori, I love seeing one of those lovely aqua boxes, now that I know what delights await! My mouth is watering just thinking about them. Of course chocolate and almonds are good for the brain!
Nom, nom indeed.
