Brand New Brain Fitness: CogniFit’s Personal Coach
CogniFit is one of the trusted standbys in the brain training field. Their software has always been among my top recommended picks, and their latest product updates their line with some pretty nifty features.
As the name implies, Personal Coach focuses on the “personal” aspect, bringing in what sounds like a pretty complex algorithm to manage the difficulty and type of challenges in each brain training session, making it a more personalized session than anything else available.
I haven’t had a chance to fully check the new system out yet, but I’ve looked over the promo materials, run through the demo, talked to a company rep, and it looks really promising.
A full review is in the works, and we’re trying to work out a chat with Cognifit founder, Prof. Shlomo Breznitz, assuming we can get past some pretty formidable time zone issues. And shhh, there’s talk of some special deals and maybe even a contest in the works for MindTweakers. So stay tuned for future details, and all that.
As for pricing, CogniFit Personal Coach requires a monthly subscription fee of 19.99 a month; there are discounts if you purchase a six-month or year’s subscription in advance, making it about middle of the road, pricing wise, even though the program itself seems pretty top notch.
Now, I know I’ve done a lot of brain-training reviews lately, and it may all seem a bit overwhelming. If you’re wondering how on earth to choose between all of the different products out there, well…. In my never-quite-qualified, yet never-quite-humble opinion, choosing a brain fitness program is less about which one program is the “best” and more about which one is “best for you”: how well it fits your needs, lifestyle and preferences, and whether or not you’re likely to actually *use* the particular program. That’s why I’m trying to look at a variety of companies and offerings - not only to assess their effectiveness and features, but to consider how each one would fit into different people’s lifestyles.
I’m still gathering information, though, so you’ll have to be patient… meanwhile, Cognifit’s new Personal Coach program seems to fit right in with that “personalized” approach.
So hop on over to their completely-redesigned website and wander around a bit. Check out the research, and be sure to play the demo session. (It doesn’t appear to be working in Firefox at the moment, but it ran just fine on IE for me).
If you have any questions, as always, leave them in the comments, and I’ll pass them along to the folks from Cognifit … if they don’t beat me to it and answer you themselves

No more links to free games. PULEEEZZE
I was just kidding of course. I love your links to free games.
Do you get to interact with a live coach as part of this software? It would be great if that was the case.
No, the “coach” is the software itself - there are a few brain fitness coaches popping up here and there, though. It’s worth looking into as a possible new direction for life coaches, for sure!
