Enough about me! Let’s talk about YOU! (What do you think of me?)

by ToriDeaux on April 27, 2007

A week or two ago, my blog-friend Jackie posted a list of “Me Me Me” things. She decided to tag her readers (The Evil Wench! ) and ask that they list “me” things, too. At the risk of justifying those who insist blogs are self-indulgent, here’s a modified list of “Me” things. I thought it would make for a good TGIF fun post.

My Simple Pleasures

  • My new dishes. They were on sale. They were cheap. They were simple and not offensive, and I needed some, so I bought them. But the dang things make me smile, every time I use them.
  • Browsing and Buying images from iStock Photo. So many of the images are graphic designers dream. I can buy the rights to them for a dollar or two just amazes me. I like possessing them. It makes me smile.
  • Blank books. They represent unlimited potential.
  • Coffee with heavy cream. Pure decadence.

My Passions

  • All forms of self expression: words, music, images, dance
  • Surrender
  • Understanding myself, others, and the world around me.
  • Bringing down wisdom

What Makes Me Laugh:

  • Dr Gregory House
  • Sinfest
  • Truth with a capital T

My Unintended Collections

  • Books, books, and more books. (I like to possess knowledge)
  • Paper (one can never have too many kinds of paper.)
  • Office supplies (Ditto paper)
  • Software demo versions (oooh look what this one does!)
  • Blank Books (I love the things, they represent potential)

What I Would Collect If Intentionally Collected Things:

  • Carnival/Circus memorabilia (I have no idea why)
  • Black and white signed photographs
  • Antique childrens books with beautiful illustrations

My Fears:

  • Cockroaches. They seriously, seriously freak me out. Especially the big palmetto bug types that you can hear coming after you in the dark…
  • Losing touch with things that are really important … like how it feels to be loved as God loves.
  • Being silenced, expression extinguished.
  • That nothing matters beyond this moment.

Ok, enough with the introspection, it’s making me melancholy. So I’m going to get myself a cup of cream-dosed coffee in one of my new oatmeal colored mugs, and browse iPhoto for a while …

Awesome M.T. :D Very informative and enlightening. I like your titles. Especially this one: “What I Would Collect If Intentionally Collected Things:” We share the fear of being silenced. WOW some of your “things” really made me think! As always :)

After reading your entry, I went back to mine and realised there are way to many things under the “hate” title and not enough under the “love” and “laugh” titles.

Note to self: Don’t focus so much on the negative!

So much reading to catch up on but one has to get some sleep. Ack!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hope it is productive!

Hi MT:

Your list is interesting. I suggest that practicing the injunction “Know Thyself” is the strarting point for being of any use to the rest of humanity.
