Market Your Mind: Make Money Online
You knew it had to happen eventually.
Sooner or later, every blogger grovels to the Google gods, and writes a traffic-bait title with those ever popular keywords, “Make Money Online”. For me, it was later rather than sooner… but I have, indeed, succumbed to the temptation.
But this is different, promise! It’s different because *this* online-marketing thingy has ME excited, which is rare in this world-of-online-marketing-pitch-overload.
Here’s the deal:
Unless you’ve been living under a blogging-rock, you’ve heard about Brian Clark’s new brainchild, TeachingSells. (You know Brian, right? The ever awesome writing/advertising guru at Copyblogger?) Since some of you may, in fact, live under rocks, a brief description is in order.
(Mind you, I don’t object to living under rocks. I can often be found there myself, lounging beneath a moss covered bit of pink granite. )
But back to our topic…
Brian-of-Copyblogger teamed up with Tony Clark (of Success From The Nest) and put together an impressive set of materials in order to teach people how to create and market interactive online courses. They start off with a convincing explanation of why creating virtual learning environments may be the single best online product you can develop, and follow that info with lessons on content creation, finding your market, hosting, even video tutorials on the software that’s involved.
So far, I’ve worked way through about half of the material, and one of the more interesting effects is the shift in my thinking.
Instead of thinking of creating AND marketing, I find myself seeing the content creation as *part of* the marketing, and vice versa.
Why does it have me excited?
—Because “teaching” is part of what I do best, and something I really enjoy.
— Because I love creating content, but marketing has always intimidated me. Approaching the two tasks as part of the same process is helping.
—Because the courses in Teaching Sells are really well put together, informative, helpful and even inspiring.
—Because, as much as it shames me, I’ve really liked the times in the past that I succeeded in “making money online.”
And why, oh why am I bombarding you with this info?
Because I’m convinced that what I’m learning in Teaching Sells would be a good fit for many MindTweakers.
-Most of you have areas of specialized interest and expertise.
-A lot of you already teach, in a sense, through your blogs.
-Many of you are content developers of some sort already; you run your own blogs, and you’re good at research and distilling information from other sources.
-Some of you are already in the consulting/coaching/workshop field. A whole heck-of-a-lot of you have existing material and knowledge would translate into an online course easily and successfully.
In short, I believe it would benefit both you, and the community-as-a-whole, if your knowledge was easily accessible in an online course format.
“But it ain’t all altruistic, is it, Ms.Deaux?”
Ok, you got me. There is, of course, the affiliate program. No, I’m not above recruiting you all for cash, but that isn’t the point of this post. My nefarious plans are more personal than that. (cue evil laugh: Bwahahaa!)
Remember that whole Learning Styles business I wrote about last month? (I learned that from TeachingSells, by the way) As it turns out, I learn, think, and problem solve best in social situations. I seem to *need* people to bounce ideas off of. I want companionship, I want a co-conspirator or two. And while the forum on T.S. is great, there are many ideas I’d rather toss around with those who are a bit more like-minded - and that means people like you, dear Tweakers.
It’s that simple! I need you!
Together, we can take over the world!
“Ok, Ok, we give. We’ll check it out. Just stop with the grandiose exclamation points.”
I knew I could count on you!! I mean.. oops. ( No more exclamation points. Promise. )
You can read more about the Teaching Sells program here. From there, you can download their free report, get a peek at the course content, or take a trial spin for only $1.
One. Dollar. That dollar gets you a week’s access to the entire TeachingSells online campus thingy. You can learn a LOT in that week-for-a-dollar deal. Even if you’re not interested in making money or building courses, there’s nifty things about the mind, marketing, and psychology to read about.
At the end of your 7 days, you can sign up for a month’s membership for $97. And if you don’t want to continue, a simple click cancels your membership. (Really, its easy to cancel, I checked.)
“But how would we co-conspire with you, OhGreatMindtweaksBlogger?”
Co-conspiring is a concept worthy of it’s own post, so I’ll save the coolest parts of that for later, along with more info on the courses I’m considering taking over the world with building myself. At the least, we can encourage each other in our projects. At the best,we might find some joint venture partnerships that would work for everyone.
But go and check out TeachingSells for yourself. Let the idea of “marketing-your-mind” marinate as a means of taking over the world “making money online” and sharing your knowledge.

MindTweak: Why are you still here waiting on *my* wisdom? Go read the free report, explore the courses, and think about how you could market *your* mind through teaching online. Then come back here and become my co-conspirator. We’ll take over the world! I mean.. erm.. We’ll make money online! I mean.. erm.. We’ll work together to tweak our own and other people’s brains, thereby improving the world? Yeah. That’s it!

Speaking of making money online, every ambitious online market needs to have a great promotion for the products and services that they offer. And this where the role of affiliate marketing takes center stage.
Affiliate marketing, in simple terms, is the sharing of revenues between an online business and the affiliate marketer. An affiliate is expected to refer or promote a merchant’s products or services and will be paid when someone buys. Often, an affiliate marketer receives a relatively high payment for his or her job, ranging from 50% to 70% of the total product revenue. Affiliate internet business marketing promotion online is usually hassle-free since it can be done as a home business. With no office rules and time constraints to beat up, it has become very popular to many people who want to start their business inside the comfort of their homes?
Giusepphine, are you asking if you can be a MindTweaks affiliate?
(I probably shouldn’t have approved this, but I couldn’t resist the quip)
