MindTweaks Privacy Policy

I can be a bit neurotic about my own privacy - so you can expect me to be pretty darn protective of your private and personal information, too!

But since the software running this thing (and serving up the occasional ad) may collect certain types of data, I thought you needed to know a bit about how that all works.

As with most websites and blogs, certain information is automatically collected in log files with each visit. The logs may include your ISP and IP address, what browser you’re using, the time you visited our site and which pages you visited on MindTweaks. If you comment or use the contact form, the site saves the information you entered, including your email address, URL, and name (as well as your comment itself) is saved, and if you subscribe via RSS feed, information about your feed reader, items you’ve viewed or clicked, and your email address (if you signed up via email subscription) are collected.

Sounds a bit creepy put like that, doesn’t it? But no worries… MindTweaks can’t actually read your mind ; ) The information is used to be sure I’m actually reaching readers, to reply to comments and contacts, and serve up those RSS Feeds. I promise to never sell your information to third parties, spam you with endless get rich quick offers, or otherwise use it for nefarious purposes.

About Cookies and Web Beacons:

MindTweaks may sometimes use cookies to store information in order to allow access to special features (like editing comments) and so on. Some third party advertisers here may also use cookies and/or web beacons to track ad performance - that means they’ll also have access to your IP address, browser information, ISP, and various other non-identifiable information.

MindTweaks promises to only partner with trusted, reputable companies which have established privacy policies of their own, so even that limited information is kept… well.. private.

Currently, those companies include:

  • Amazon
  • Google/Google Adsense
  • Commission Junction
  • Transparent Corporation

You’re welcome to turn off our cookies (and any third party cookies, as well) through your browser or security system settings. I can’t promise it won’t interfere with your use of the site, but it shouldn’t cause many problems.
